There was a green electrical box on the corner of our block on Staten Island. It was a utility box — the kind you see on every street in every neighborhood in America. Nothing special about it except that everyone knew what it meant.
If you were looking for us, you knew where to go. Show up at the green box and the plan figured itself out. No phones needed. No group chats. Just show up and someone would be there.
That box is where we figured out a lot of things growing up.
Matt and Charlie have been friends since they were five years old. Born in 1984, raised on Staten Island, still figuring things out together forty years later.
Matt is now down in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Charlie is still on Staten Island. The distance has not changed much — we still show up when it counts.
We started Green Box Agency because we kept watching local businesses get burned. Bad websites that cost too much. SEO promises that went nowhere. Agencies that disappeared after the check cleared.
We know these business owners. We grew up around them. The guy who runs the deli. The woman who owns the salon. The contractor who showed up for everyone on the block when something needed fixing.
These people deserve better than what most agencies offer. So we built Green Box to give it to them.
